Manga Suggestions!!

If they had an award for Manga reader, i’ll be crowned Queen of Manga Expression of Emotions….*cricket*…..Anywho, since I love mangas so much (they are my medication for when i am feeling sad/mad), i decided to share some of my recent favs for you guys—>

A Korean Manhwa and a MUST READ. It’s about a little town that’s been suffering from a drought for a very long time. They say it’s because the water god (Haebaek) has not been giving them rain. So, they (the towns peeps) say that a sacrifice must be made in order for the water god to give them rain. The town will sacrifice/drown a girl and make her the water god’s bride. Soah, is unfortunately one of the girls to be sacrificed. It’s a really interesting book. Haekaek and Soah will eventually fall in love and a lot of things will happen and their hearts will be broken and everything>_< (it’s really sad) *tears*…FYI, the water god is a total hottie^_^

NG LIFE by Mizuho Kusanagi

Keidai Saeki can remember his past life. Many years ago, he was a young man named Sirix who lived in a city called Pompeii with a beautiful wife named Serena and a best friend named Loleus. They lived in peace and happiness but ultimately perished when their city was destroyed in a volcanic eruption. And now, in the present, his wife has been born as a boy and his best friend born as a girl!! Everyday is full of anguish for keidai as he struggles with these relationships in a completely altered present!
The author is the same creator as MUGEN SPIRAL! NG Life is worth reading. I think it’s sad and comedic at the same time. Do check it out and tell me what you guys thing:) FYI, it may seem a little draggy at first but it has its reasons. PLUS! all the characters are not annoying. I loved everyone one of them^^

LEGEND by Woo SooJung

Once upon a time, a selfish king summoned the monstrous Bulkirin into the real world. The monster killed half of all human beings, leaving the rest helpless as to what to do. That is, until one day when a hero appeared and defeated the Bulkirin with the legendary ”Seven Blade Sword.” But…what does all this have to do with 8th grader Eun-Gyo Sung?! First, she gets suspended from school for fighting. Then, she runs away from home. The last thing she needed was to be kidnapped — and whisked into the past by a mysterious stranger named No-Ah! I love this Manhwa!! the main girl, Eun Gyo, is so funny. She may seem like those typical snobbish manga teenage girls but there is something different about her aura that really attracts me. The Art is beautiful and i recommend everyone to read this!! What i like about this Manhwa the most is that it’s not draggy at all. It’s really fast pace and you can easily understand every detail. LEGEND also reminds me of a particular manga, Inuyasha. But LEGEND is so much better:)

MAID SAMA by Hiro Fujiwara

Seika High School, once an all-boys school notorious for its wild students and for generally being a terrifying place for girls, has recently become a co-ed school. With the female population still a minority and living in fear of the over-the-top antics of the males, Misaki Ayuzawa takes it into her own hands to reform the school and allow the girls to feel safe in the rough environment.
Training, studying, and even becoming the first female student council president of the school, Misaki has gained a reputation among the male students body as an uptight, boy-hating dictator and as a shining hope for the teachers and fellow female students. However, despite her tough-as-nails appearance, she secretly works part-time at a maid café in order to support her family. Unfortunately, her hard-earned reputation is threatened when the popular, attractive, and somewhat impassive Takumi Usui takes an interest in her after discovering her in a maid uniform after school.
The main guy in here is everything a girl would ever want>_<. At first he will seem like he’s really mean and cocky. But once he meets and gets to know the main girl, he is as gentle and sweet as a flower(?). He’s so in love with her and protects her as much as he can(although he doesnt need to) because she’s a strong willed girl!!! this is a must read. It’s really funny too.

KIMINI TODOKE by Karuho Shiina

Sawako Kuronuma, called Sadako by her classmates for her resemblance to the character fromThe Ring, has always been feared and misunderstood because of her appearance. There are rumors that Sawako can see ghosts and curse people. However, despite her appearances, she is a sweet and timid girl who longs to be able to make friends with everyone and be liked by everyone else. When her idol, popular boy Kazehaya, begins talking with her, everything changes. She finds herself in a new world, trying to make friends and talking to different people and she can’t thank Kazehaya enough for giving her these opportunities. Slowly, but surely, a sweet love blossoms between the two as they overcome circumstances and obstacles that stand in their way. (credits:
This story will not be a waste of time. It’s filled with friendship and love. The manga will not fail your expectations.

PIG BRIDE by Huh Kook-Hwa

Rebellious and spoiled eight year old Si-Joon Lee is sent to a summer camp in the mountains by his senator father. He runs away and gets lost but is saved when he finds a house in the middle of nowhere. A mysterious woman who lives there reveals to him that he is part of an ancient prophecy and must marry her daughter, Mu-Yeon, a descendant of the Park family of the ‘Park Bride’ folktale. The daughter is a small girl of Si-Joon’s age who hides her face behind a smiling pig mask. Tempted by food Si-Joon agrees to the marriage. That night, Mu-Yeon tells him she will meet him on his sixteenth birthday.
On his sixteenth birthday, Si-Joon is tracked down by his bride and her sister and bodyguard, Mu-Hwa. A Holy Priest who has been serving Si-Joon’s family reveals that the marriage must commence and the prophecy must be fulfilled or Si-Joon will die before the year ends. Si-Joon attempts to live his life normally but begins to experience flash-backs involving his past life and Mu-Yeon.
Later on in the series, Doe Doe starts to fall for Ji Oh Yun, Si Joon’s best friend and at the end of the series, it is never officially resolved whether Ji Oh like Mu Hwa or Doe Doe. At the end of the last volume, the authors reveal that Mu Yeon became South Korea’s first female president, Si Joon was “working behind the scenes”, Ji Oh became a doctor, Mu Hwa became the head of Secret Service, and Doe Doe became a banker.
